Lifted the barrel today to re-seal the base gasket, now I know why they leak, metal to metal sealing, no evidence any gasket gue had been used, the oil drilling for the 2 valve motor in the 'universal crankcase' has no o ring at the base of the barrel where it is blanked off as the feed on the 4 valve motor is via seperate oil lines.
If Ducati had plastered the base gasket with gasket gue a they do just about everywhere else then there probably would have been no oil leaks.
