Am tracking a speedo / tacho unit on ebay at the mo, my bike is the older version without the tacho so a question or 3 for those who might know, can I remove the speedo from the pod and replace with my own ? where do I connect the tacho if it`s possible, will the oil light, which is in the rev counter on the newer unit still work as mine is in the light cluster ? oh and finally what would one cost from a dealer as I don`t wan`t my competative nature ro result in me paying more than it`s worth ! cheers

is it the new new pod that use the read break disk for the speedo reading ?
im sure its all possible if you break out the soldering iron (worst case senario)
im not sure about the tacho bit though , i know someone fitted one of them led rev counter things and wired that to the ignitoin timing or sumit
but the new new tachos take the signal from the ecu dont they ? no idea on a price
that's right,
if you are thinking of buying a tacho which was made for the injected models, it wont work.

I've got one of these on my ol monster, they come with wires and plugs ready to just plug into one of the ignition control unit jobbies. Its about as easy as it gets, might be an option for you.......although some people in the past have said they can jump around a bit, but touch wood mines been ok.

well done finding an ebay bargain kevin, usually some bright spark posts "ooh has anyone seen this" the speedo is a doddle and you may loose mileage?
