No, not the slapper with too much make up on the appalling soap known as 'stenders. Come to think of it, aren't all soaps appalling? My wife is a regular viewer but I refer to them all as emmerendersstreet 'cos they all seem the same to me.

Back to the subj.

Is there a bellypan available that hides the cat on the S4R? I seem to remember seeing one somewhere but can't remember where (altzheimers kicking in?)

I've just checked the 2006 Ducati range and the 620 & classic sports don't have cats fitted. I don't know about the 749, 999 etc because of the fairings, but the new testretta-powered monster has one.
Does anyone know why some models have them fitted & not others?

Do any other makes fit cats? I've only noticed them on Ducati's but then I take a special interest!

Seems a bit random to me!

Yes, that does the job nicely. Do you have any more pictures from different angles esp. the front?
Do you know if it's available in carbon?
Is that a carbon tailpiece I spy? Pray, from whence was it purchased?

Found a couple more pics!
As far as I know its only comes in white fibreglass, so you have to get it painted, it is indeed a carbon tailpiece, bought from Spareshack in their recentish sale, Flyde superbikes had one up on e-bay recently but it didnt reach its reserve, went up to £80, paid about £50 for mine I think!

As I understood it, the EFi Monsters with low level exhausts have a cat built into each can (there must be some reason they are so damn heavy), same goes for the Sport Classics - the reason the cans are larger than the prototypes is because there is a cat stuffed up each one... the S2R/S4R having such small high level cans, needs the additional box behind the engine to house the cat... I presume the 749/999 has a cat built into the huge silancer assembly below the passenger seat pad/hump?

There is a DP item in Carbon that hides the cat. It's not a belly pan tho.

You could get rid of the cat by fitting an aftermarket pipe.

Think most if not all new bikes being produced now have cats in them.
The 749/999 does have a cat in the rear box for one cylinder and another in the other cylinder down pipe.
Full Arrow system sorts out the S4r cat though and is road legal (if you leave the baffles in ;) )
