My first thought was to the shock mount, the SS shock mounts in a different plane and using a different shock to the monster. I suppose though that you could do it provided you had the monster frame altered to take the SS shock upper mount?
<edit> just had another quick look at the pic and it looks like he's actually used an SS frame as well. More of a 'fightered SS than a monster really I suppose? Simply fitted a monster seat and tank to an SS and made up some new exhausts to suit..

I reckon that is a chopped Moster frame as the ss frame is diffrent around the belt cover on the vertical cylinder.

i recon its a custom frame, the tubes look a bit thicker than normal ?

The reason I said an SS frame is that it doesn't have the two parallel top and bottom frame rails. The Ss frame looks like this

Looking again at the picture though, it may well be a custom job, or even a very chopped up monster frame, it certainly bears little resemblance to a monster frame now though!.

instead of speculating with people on here why not just email the bloke (or lady)? the internet is quite handy like that...

Email the guy... come on Yerbs that would be far too easy?
Mind you the guy is very active on the DML site, so it could be worth a try...
assuming it's his bike and he knows F***all about it of course? :D
My vote is on it being a bitsa - 900SS swingarm & maybe motor, monster tank + seat and hand built frame :)
