I Remember someone was looking for a sidestand a while ago. I also remember JMo saying they're ridiculously priced. Hence, I bring to you the following link:

Yeah, will do but I doubt it's any longer - they're all the same

Just weld a 'foot' on the end, thats what I did. About half an inch plate is about right, then just shape it till it looks right.

Stops it digging into tarmac so much too

What sort of metal is it made from then? I thought it would be some sort of rubbish alloy that would snap if you tried bending it or melt if you tried welding it  . I've got about a 45 degree lean on my S4 which frightens me to death  , I was thinking of threading the underneath and bolting a plate on, but your idea sounds better.

What year/model did you do this modification to, or am I about to scrap an aluminium alloy sidestand for the S4 by trying to weld it?

MH.

It was onto a M600 98 (alli one - from a 900ss)

use steel plate, which will weld on easily.

:)

.....so would that be better than to buy another one, cut it and weld the two ends together?
