Morning people.
Either i've lost the ability to count or there's something fishy going on with my gearbox or clutch.Back in the summer before the bike was stripped down for a winter overhaul i was sure that i could only get 4 gears. On some occasions it was 5 (i think). After talking to some older bikeing mates they said it sounded unusual for it to "drop" a gear so i just carried on riding it.The performance was still ok etc although top speed seemed a little down, about 105mph instead of what i used to get it up to; 115-120mph. Does this sound familiar or am i still in bed dreaming.?

The old M600 definitely has 5 gears - 6 if you include neutral!

It's not your clutch if you're getting the other 4 (and you don't really need a clutch to change up anyway) so it's probably summat wrong in the gearbox itself - over to the technical wizards here... worn/faulty/wrong selector fork.

Was the gearbox stripped down in the summer when the bike was overhauled?

Yeah, especially a yellow one. Everybody knows the red 'uns are faster.
