is this an for and injected or carbed monster ?
i think it is for injected, but i am not 100% sure...anyone one knows ?
(if it was injected, it should fit on the guy's bike...)

did they make carbed or ie darks in 2002? the fuel cavity on the carbed models is in the centre ofr the tank, this one is on the side suggesting it is injected? can't say for certain...the rounded edge on the tank where the saddle meets suggests a later tank, the earlier had more of an angle.

i agree, which is why i'd think it should fit his 2002 dark..is the s4 any different ?

difficult one that (I'll show AK the pic tonight if nobody has answered)

The injected 620 models came out in 2001, HOWEVER, due to stocks still in bike dealers, the carbed 600's were still being sold 'new' till mid/late 2002, at reduced prices. This would be why there could be confusion as to make/fit.

To confuse you more, the 'ie' tanks ARE different:
The plastic tank has a totally different pump to the metal one.
The plastic tank (found on most darks) will fit the bike the same - but the pump is different, as it is fitted from the bottom.
The metal one is easily checked, as it has an outer ring round the outside of the filler cap, the pump is fitted from the inside, going from the top.

Does this help?

so, his orginial tank is plastic, and he has an injected 620 dark.
hence, a metal one is not fitting, and this chromed up piece of perverted bling is not going to fit my carbed 900.
all is clear.

or he has a 600 dark with a plastic tank and it will fit. is the hole on your 900 in the centre or the side? the chtrome jobby is to the side. there is no pump on the carbed bikes though apart from the gravity fed pump on the frame (I think) In any case I am sure you could make it work? it is just a gravity fed fuel line with a filter after all (I think)

sorry to be vague but that is my colour this season.

mwah.
Alex.

remember these things are about 800 quid new so worth making it fit if the price is right.

why not get your tank chrome plated?

plan A is to get the tank plated. but if i can find a decent one on ebay, i might as well. that is labeled plan B.
my hole is in the middle, so to speak. the underside seems a little different as well, between carbed and injected, or is that just an optical illusion.

somehow, it doesnt fit his bike. another mistery then.

Alex got your mail off ebay after spotting this posting just b4 leaving work.
My bike is 02 620 Dark with a plastic tank. The pump assembly on mine is different one large round plate which I think the pump is fitted to. This plate has the Delivery and Backflow hoses fitted to it. The Chromo tank has four pipe connectors and a threaded boss.
Delivery, Backflow,Bleed,Drain and the threaded Boss.
I think these tanks use an internal pump like CK&AK says.
But then some guy has just mailed me and said it was for a carbed model Chromo? Because he has one.
The reason I am selling it is as its says in my add. Spotted it on ebay with about 3mins remaining and placed a bid if I had time to leg it to the garage I would have know, I just could'nt remember exactly the layout.

I am a bit peeved about it as apart from a slight scratch in the top of the tank it looks as new. :(

I think the four are two breathers, fuel (the one on the side) and the big overdesigned jobbie is a level sensor..I still think that an ie tank could be made to fit a carbed bike only not vice versa?
