Since having my S4 serviced at Ducati manchester last month I am having trouble starting it. When the key is turned to the on position everything seems ok, that is all the lights come on and the pump is heard to run, then when the starter button is pressed.. nothing. Try it again thinking to myself have i missed something here?.. Nothing... Take the key out walk around for a bit, try again and it fires. Its not everytime but its bloody annoying and i've had to push it home. Anyone had similar??

Sounds like the "kill" switch to me.

Squirt some wd40 or some other lubricant down the sides then give it a good waggle about, should do the trick.

Bry...still monstering...a bit...sometimes.

I had exactly the same problem after a service. In this instance the lead from the starter switch to the solenoid had been disturbed. Its only a two pin socket and has no retaining clips. You can find it just under the frame, round the back of the solenoid; give that a shove back on and see what happens.

Cor, I've answered a technical question.
