Hi, I am going to have to start MOT'ing my beloved soon and it currently has kilometres on the speedo and odometer, with stickers at the important mph landmarks. I understand I will have to change it over to blighty imperial.
How do I do this? In the M&P catalogue there is an electrical or mechanical convertor. It says that it comes with a mph sticker to put over the kph label.
Ideally I would like to get away from stickers altogether. Is it a simple matter of replacing with an mph speedo, or would I still need a convertor?
Also what about the odometer would I need to wind the miles back somehow? It currently shows 11000-ish kilometres
Help, anyone, please?

a ducati mph clock just drops straight in, no adjuster needed.
cant help...but i could take your old speedo off you, if you change the whole unit, that is... its not about my used swimwear fetish, but more thinking ahead to the day i'll head back to the continent. is it a white faced one ? how much would you accept to part from it ? i am in absolutely no rush, no plans to get back before at least 12months..
but if it is cheap enough, i'll grab it.

It should go through an MOT with no problem as it is. I had a German import Honda Shadow (yes it was me who bought one) with Kph speedo and mileage (kilometerage?) in Km's. There were small bits of red insulating tape at 30, 50,60, 70 mph stuck on the outside of the glass and it passed just fine. They just record the distance on the certificate as being in Km's.
My son's Virago 125 (you must be thinking what a pair of bad ass dudes they must have looked) was the same deal and that went through 2 MOT's no problem.

is this for mot or is it a case of getting the bike uk registered then doing an mot? given road tax, mots and cameras that appear every 100 yards I would keep the foreign plates.
Stupid miles...
Serves you right for not converting to a proper measurement of distance. (No not lightyears or day marches).

Sorry for the delay in replying...(best excuse EVER coming up)....I had my eye laser surgery done straight after posting this and haven't been able to read until today  !!!! But straight back on the UKMOC....commitment to the cause, moi?!?
I thought originally it had to be done for the MOT but even if it didn't HAVE to be done for that, I think I probably will do it anyway as everything else, (lights, number plate etc.), are blighty standards.
Sooo who has an mph clock just kicking around with about 7485-ish miles on the clock? Or is there an easy way of winding the mileage backwards or forwards?
If this is you let me know how much you would like for it.
Enough rambling, thank you. :D
