What about my cute rendition of Kitty chan?

Does it offend thee?

George Best-sorry, no sympathies there... It's not like he hasn't had umpteen chances. I'm sure there are plenty other people who haven't been as fortunate and didn't get a new liver just because they didn't knock a ball around a few years back in a silly little game.

pps, I heard Kyile was in full recovery???

Yes, but in Japland, the term 'chan' following a name simply means it's a child, or a cutesy name, (in the same way that 'san' means it is a name, and 'sama' means a name of someone of higher status than yourself, or simply 'Lord'), hence Hello Kitty is known as Kitty chan, and my dog is called 'Umetaro chan'. 'Taro' also has a meaning-simply that it is a boy's name, which incidently is a small japanese plum. I blame my wife etc etc. When i liked my wife I called her 'Chi-chan' as her name was Chiho and all that.

ahh Nick San, let's not look back in anger! (again) now you call her Chiho-ho? It really is a very fine language indeed.

Spoke to her t'other day. She's popping over next year and should be visiting the Cotswolds. The Japs love the place for some reason. Ok, I'll say som enice things about her then instead. She was a cracking pianist and used to do big concerts when she was 11. Maybe she tried to play Rachmanimov (or whatever his name is) and lost the plot, because she discovered electric guitars and ditched the plinking. She then went on to play lead in two different jap hardcore bands in the Rage Against The Machine stylee.
