I'm looking to rid my 620S of all the horrible plastic paraphanalia that adorns its backside!

I've sourced a small plate (6x4") and RSend make a good frame on which to carry the number plate and a set of small indicators. I'm then left with a plastic beast with sticky-out bits where the indicators used to live.

I have seen bobtails with the square "old-school" tail plastic and seen them on ebay in Carbon-Fibre. Has anyone tried fitting one to the 'new' monster or does anyone have any tips without spending £££££ on the Ducati Performance Carbon item I have seen?

Gaaaaaaah - just cut the lot off and be done with it, you woosy x

The older style tea-tray might fit the frame, but the mounting holes are different I believe (certainly some had 3 rather than 4 mounting points on the frame), and you'll still have to make a bracket to hold the rear light in position... still, I'm sure you could construct a mounting breacket that holds everything together (I'm sure I could, I just have no inclination to x) - why not get one and give it a go?

I used to have carpet in my garage (until this week infact - major redecoration) - and it is comfy to work on around the bike, but yes - it can get a bit oily and yukky... a good idea is to have a few off-cuts (say a metre square) and use those around the bike - could help save your knees from arthritis and all that malarky...

It may be worthwhile establishing some form of rapport with a local carpet dealer, you know..."I need some beige swatches" that kind of thing, alternatively next time you are at a party (xmas season, strike whilst the rod glows) keep a fresh stanley in your pocket and just clip a few inches from behind the telly? then construct a "garage quilt".....BS aside loose the tail, cheapish camera, proffesional snapper.

Jeez.. £150 notes for a back end that looks like a carbon fibre duck billed platypuss (IMO) no thanks :p

But then I'm one of the "Jmo -chop the bugger and stop faffing about" club ;)

All sounds a bit Linda Barking-Mad and Changing rooms to me. Nowt wrong with crawling around on a freezing concrete floor, it's character building.

Mind you i've a bought a couple of tins of grey floor paint to slap down when I can be arsed. Must be getting soft in my old age? :o

P.S. Alex - first snap I've seen of your lady sporting the color matched short hugger
