Hey all,
So I bought a rear carbon hugger, carbon side sponsors, carbon lower fairing for my S2R......none of them fit (I won't mention the company) ((yet)) is all Ducati carbon so badly fitting?
The problem is that I daren't even try the more complex mods like the tail chop etc.
Any ideas>?
When you say they won't fit - is is a case of just a little bit, or completely the wrong shape?
The reason I ask is that I notice Ducati Performance carbon stuff has a little note attached saying "blah blah hand made, each one unique blah blah" as a sort of excuse for things not being 100% (although that tends to refer to the finish, rather than the fitting itself).
It may be that you (or someone) just needs to employ Dr Dremel and a drill... as for the tail chop - very straightforward if you know what you are doing... ahem.
Give me a call if you need any help (although judging by your avatar, I may regret saying that... x)

PS. did you get your S2R from my mate Marcus at P&H?

Yes it's all genuine, in the way that it doesn't fit I mean like the side panels don't have the cut out for the perpendicular frame piece blah blah blah, I will dremmel it all to make it fit.
Yes I did buy from Marcus and I'll never buy a bike from them again!!!
The Stores guys are great, really know their stuff.
The Girls in the Clothing store are great, Tigger is the best at finding odd sizes.
The Service guys are great too, sooooo helpful.
But the salesmen...BAH, I've sold Cars, Boats and now Aircraft, I've never been costantly treated like a second class citizen like I have at P&H, if you're not some kind of complete Bikeophile then they just look at you like a POS (even after you've spent thousands with them).
I've always believed in customer service ...shame they don't.

Interesting you say that - you mean Marcus (the Ducati guy) particularly? - I know he can drive a hard bargin, but he's not normally rude?
In their defence, you can imagine a big dealership like that get an awful lot of timewasters in, but if you're sitting down to do a deal, they have always been polite with me...

Okay I walk in, with my CBT and DAS booked, walk up to Marcus and say," I would like to buy that S2R (brand spankin new) I give him my card. He takes deposit. ( a little like its an imposition I might add)
2 weeks later I pop in with 3 grand to give to the Suzuki guy who looks at me with a kind of " WTF do you want look", he takes the money...end of story.
1 week later I walk in with Reg docs, the rest of the money, insurance etc and talk to the DAS guys about the course (next day) wave at Marcus who doesn't even acknowledge me.
Come in during DAS ( part of the plan I think) Blanked by all especially the Suzuki Guy (Marcus is out).
Pass Test
....
WOOT
Come in to make sure all is okay talk to sales manager who doesn't know whats going on (and doesn't give a damn)
Come back 2 days later, Wrong plate on bike, bubbled transfers (that were on warrany order (but weren't)) still there, CJ handed bike over (Very Decent no nonsence sort of guy, they need more of them at P&H he was very helpful)
Few weeks later go in to talk to Marcus because I've found out that if you get a new bike then your entitled to 10% off clothing plus if you do your DAS though them you get 10% also. Well as I spent around £1300 on daineese with them I asked him for a set of padock stands as I got no discount, "Ooooh the deals been done, this is a bit difficult now"
At which point I thought Fu&K this.

They don't LOL
I meant it more as a gesture.
Still they lost out.
One of the guys who works for me was looking at one of their 748's so I gave him the day off and £500 to get one from a dealership in London, which he did, he's thrilled and I feel a sence of retribution.
In fact I've spoken to a few people who go there and they are all sick of the sales guys being so up their own asses.
So we're all going to start gong to London.
Hmmmmmm... doesn't sound like you had a great time...
How long ago was all this? - like the chap with the gripe about Ducati Aylesbury, your first port of call ought to be the dealership - if you level with them and say you're not happy with the situation (politely btw x) - then the general manager will normally do his best to sort the problem out. It's your call, but perhaps they can do you some kind of deal when it comes to service time or something? - the problem with giving away 'stuff' for free is it has to be accounted for, whereas labour can be adjusted on the books if you see what I mean...
I think they would be concerned that you didn't have a great experiance in this instance.
