wheres my ecu

hi all,
could someone please tell me where the ecu is situated on the s4,( please don't tell me it's in the gravel trap at gerrards) mine is a 2001. I am trying to find the tacho signal wire or another suitable signal wire as I am trying to fit a micro display.
Any help is much appreciated.

Lift the tank, it's on the right side of the battery with two large connectors on top.

RPM sensor on crankcase that feeds rpm info to the ECU?
Left side of engine, just in front of water pump on desmoquattro motor.
No. 8 on diagram.

You should have a full wiring diagram in the back of the owners manual.

Failing that, LT side of one of the coils but you'll probably have to double the reading somehow, as I can't imagine an ECU controlled motor uses 'wasted spark'.

Be carefull with the plug to ECU yes they lock together by the lever on top but I have seen too many pins in the ECU bent this way!
