After phoning around, the estimates for fitting a 748 top fairing to my S2R were becoming a dream. As much as i like the idea £1200-£1500 using second hand parts made me shelve it. So i fitted a steering damper and its cured the unstable front end completely ,£260 sounds a lot better.

In what way was it unstable?,mine seems fairly solid.
At particular speed? or road conditions?

Normal road conditions feels like aquaplaning but does'nt do it anymore.

Did it also feel (when on roundabouts etc) that the front wheel was slipping away slightly?
Thats what I have...and the speed thing.
So it sorted it then huh?
Where did you get it from?

Mine does this but only with a full tank, however my old 600 did it too.
Must be something to do with weight distribution, but not sure what.

Did it on bends as well, got the damper from Spareshack and was for an S4R took a chance it would fit and is fine. I will give it a better test on Sunday when i go on the Ace run but so far no problems at all.
