Dropped my bike S4R today for service and queried two little flakes of paint that had come off the n/s & o/s rear casings at the top (to the side of the oil breather assembly). Looked like someone had knocked them with a tool but I knew I hadnt done it.
Turns out all the new ones are the same (looked at 2 new bikes in the showroom and they were all the same !!!!).
Its apparently where the jig holds the casings when it gets painted :eek:
I cant be arsed to pursue a warranty claim (although I would be well within my rights), so I will touch them up with some silver nail varnish (cheers luv :lol: ) and Snells have agreed to write an acknowledgement of the problem on my invoice in case it deteriorates.
Mucho respect to Andy at Snells for the honesty by the way..they didnt have to own up to knowing that and even pointed it out on a new S2R for me !!
Purpose of this..? Check your casings and if there the same as mine just touch them up to ensure they dont deteriorate and try and get an acknowledgment on your next service.
