A reasonably priced winter bike would be good too. I'm looking for a bike for when t'other bike gets ripped apart this winter. Don't mind what it looks like or what it is just as long as it runs and would maybe cope with the odd trip from Hudds to Northumberland. Its gotta be really cheap too! If any of you have something or see something kicking about gimme a bell.

Cheers

Madhatters missus is selling her Virago 535 or whatever it is as she's now on the Monnie 750 - not sure if that would interest you?

Hmmm, that just ain't my bag baby.

I'm after a knackered old winter hack that doesn't mind being thrown down the road occasionally (even though I've not come off in 2 years! woohoo).
What I'm really after is a crosser of some sort but I really can't find any so anything like a GS550 or similar would be great.

Thats the sort of thing I'm after but in the latest bike trader I couldn't find anything suitable. Best I've seen so far is a 1982 CB250 Superdream (It's older than me!). I've ridden one of these beasts before and it would pootle around quite happily. If anybody's interested it's got 10 months T&T and it's £450 in west yorkshire. Perfect for me but no money until pay day! Nuts.

Is that one a stroker then? Possibly not the best idea for a reliable everyday bike. Saying that, with the right oil in it and a bit of care it should be fine. Do you have a phone number or website blah by any chance?

Suzuki DR350 is a great trailie that isn't too desperate on the road either - if you can find one these days... (note, after 1994 they were electric start)

I've had 2 DR350Ss they're great little bikes, I wouldn't want to spend much motorway time on them but almost nothing will stay with them in traffic.

I wouldn't mind something like a DR but the cheapest one I've seen so far is £1000. Really can't afford that much for a winter bike. Would quite like some big trailie type fun aswell. ah well...

Considered a 600 Diversion? They seem reliable and you could pick one up for a few hundred quid on eBay.

ER5 or GS500 would make a good winter hack....
