Bought a 1994 CB500 to use as a run about and rally bike, this is a top bike for the money, can't get over how it just revs and revs with a 2 stroke like power band and about 60 mpg! maybe not much character but very practical and quick.

Sammye - Go boil your head ;) - This is RANDOM CHAT - the playground of Yerbs and Richard S, so complaining about anything that occurs here is a waste of time :D

And yes, I agree - the CB500 is a very underrated bike

I think we have a problem with the biking culture in the UK - probably related to the bike test system - that means the majority of us pass our bike tests by Direct Access on 500cc bikes, and then never go anywhere near them again... assocaiting them with L plate Mini-Metros.

Fortunately the majority of UKMOC members have obviously got over the whole 'power trip' thing (except for those with plumbing - you know who you are) and are quite happy with sub 100 bhp performance. As riders of V-twins we know that bhp is a red herring anyway - torque is what matters ;)

Anyway, back to the CB500 - it is a great 'Joe Bloggs' do anything bike, that will run and run forever (subject to arguments with immovable objects).
Anyone else ever heard one with noisy cans? Sounds awesome, and actually much more impressive than many 600 in line fours.

Not sure about underrated but if anyones got one for sale or something similar gimme a bell. Gotta be cheap though. I need me some winter wheels and I ain't gettin a damn car (cos I can't afford to insure it, nuts).

random chat I would guess is for Ducati owners so I guess thats the only requirement needed to make a comment about anything?

heres more jokes... my wife (who also has a Ducati) also likes the dull old CB500, in fact everyone who rides its then likes it! (maybe we are either sad or just open minded in that there any many sides to biking) I have a 1973 CB125 which i also like to ride so work that one out?

hope to have amused you!
