Bristol Bike show this saturday

anyone up for this?

Duncan reckons to get there before 10.00am, there's a distinct possibility of speed cameras on the Reading - Swindon bit of the M4 so I think we're talking an 8.30 departure from Reading.

meet at McDeeeuuuggghsss around 8.00

usually weather clauses apply

My bike was ready and it wasn't going to **** down! Given that I appear to have developed webbed fingers and toes this morning not sure I'll be heading out westwards... Also those lovely chappies at Rosso Corse have my Monster.....But for anyone who goes have a lovely day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

weather is fine down here in Bristol with only the lightest shower last night. Tomorrow is set fine and fair, according to BBC local weather with 23c top temp.

Perfick biking weather methinks.

hey you're a great guy too great mate! spoke to Sellers earlier re meeting outside but we are using a different trajectory? we may have to light some beacons/find a landmark and use mobiles.

If you get lost Yerbs just ask anyone the way to Old Market. The shows not there but the looks a man clad in leather gets in that part of town from the other fellas are worth seeing....

Landmark is the City Centre, its only 100 yards from there and signposted, turn left up Baldwin Street and left at top by bristol Bridge into St Nicholas St.

Great show, great weather and thanks to all you lot from miles off who got out early and came to the show. There were over 20 Monsters and a few others popped by in the day. You are the Bristol Bike show its about you and your bikes.

Well, we never won nowt this year but we had a great looking display. Trust Yerbs got home safe after losing his gear lever pivot we did manage to find one in a shed in the middle of nowhere but it was a fair way off to get it fitted.

Julie was busy all day snapping pics for the Rusty Bike Guide and a few of us got holed up at bars or the 3 music stages.

Heres Roberto with one of the 'locals'

What a totally ace day! Thanks to Duncan for parking my bike! Ruth, you were missed xx. The weather was perfect for riding many many miles - yup Al and I did 261 miles in total and our arses are numb beyond belief! Thank god for the great god "Stella Artois" for making it all better when we got home. :D

Lovely weather, great show as usual, top ride to Bristol along A4 as well. Good to see lots of familiar faces i.e. Duncan, Crustovski, Julie, John Zoom, Rod, Adrian, Simon etc plus a few I didn't get a chance to say 'hello!' to.

IMO best bike in the show was the utterly mad matt black jobbie in the shape of a shapely woman!

Cheers!

Great day out! Lots and lots of miles...

The day started at 7am, meeting JMo at Bury Hill. We whizzed along to Ower services, for a much needed brekkie, and to meet Robht. A great cross country route saw us arriving in Bristol soon after 10.

After a fab day in the sun, we left (with Julie in tow), and went via Marlborough, to view Rob's new country estate. Thanks to Francis for mugs of tea, and yummy choc mint digestives!

Rob showed us a great route back (past numerous green lanes - Jen and Julie got very excited!), and we wound our way to Winchester, then took the quick way home as it was getting dark. Got home about 9.30, after about 265 miles.

Looking forward to next year!

we will be starting with their hair first (obviously)

right, no photos of bikes but this is what me, Mr Y and Mr S got up to....

Bristol, Wales, got close to the Green Man Festival (allegedly), lots of pub stops, nice views, too much of the red stuff, bit of wig wearing, today re-living the weekender, Stratford. Nuff said.

...and some bubbly stuff. I am now rattling about the country pile in my nigtgown, the west wing is in a sorry state, the roof has collapsed and I have moved the family into the stables....still, these old walls once rang with the sound of childrens laughter and borderline alcoholics..happy days. Found the wig, have not found cigarette filters, perhaps I buried them somewhere. Must thank Mrs Jennings for making me look like a paedophille in the "3 go" picture, still, nice pair of hills etc etc -I dont make this stuff up honest, the wee fellow in my head has a laminated list.

Yours sniffing a pillow with tears in my eyes.

It was indeed a good day out, the weather was kind to us again this year. I met JMo & Sazza plus the Crazy Pig at Ower which wasn't eaxactly on my way to Bristol but I'll take any excuse to have a McNasty breakfast....

I think the Rat Bikes had put in as much effort as the customs - especially the one with the skeleton riding pillion etc...

The 'Country Estate' as Sazza puts it is more Southern White Trailer Trash than Landed Gentry at the moment, though I can see I'll be hosting a visit from the UKMOC - Off-Road Section in the future...

A good day & great company...

thanks to Duncan for scribbling things on my map, thanks to JR for looking very concerned and thanks to Martin (invisible man) for worrying about something which is not really worth worrying about.

ps.Big thanks to (the lovely) Mand for the worried expression, the kind usually reserved for cannon fodder young boys off to do their bit for King and Country as I left for the less than salubrious porn star monikered "Louigi Moto"....I made it in record time despite an inactive lever...I am now the king of 3rd gear.

I received a letter today from Richard Stiling the organiser of the show. So for all those who made the effort to get down to Bristol, it was appreciated.

It says;

A BIG THANK YOU

That was superb, great turn out, great weather, and great atmosphere. We marked our 10th year with what must be the best show we ever had. Me, I'm going to have a lie down now for the rest of the year.

Thank you; you are the Bristol Bike Show.
