Well first I made the mistake of asking Albie what he thought of the S4 compared with his old bike.....second, I made the mistake of booking a test ride on a second-hand 20,000 miler at my local bike shop....third, I made the mistake of "just going to have a look" at an absolute mint Senna S4 with only 4,000 on the clock.....a red haze later and now I'm the proud owner of a Senna S4, just need to get a Crash Helmet that matches Running Man now!!

Woo Hoo! What have I been missing! :D :D :burnout: :burnout:

So there really is a significant difference then? Just that I'm toying with the idea of an S4 for next summer.

How much would one of those set me back in comparison to the S4 then?

I reckon they'd prob set you back a similar price used but it's the upkeep that makes the difference. Ducati Manchester charge £484 for a 12thou service compared to £579 for the S4..........

.....but those of "Heavier Build" do tend to favour the air-cooled version as they don't have the extra weight of water and a radiator to slow them down even further.... :D  .....Ooops, that's my membership knackered..

Think that's made my mind up then for my next bike as you've totally agreed with what Fatbloke was telling me last night, only thing is you don't tend to see many 1000's going up for sale, so could be waiting a while :(

You're not joking, 1000 ds's S/H are like hens teeth, I'd been looking for ages. But 4-4.5k will get you a good S4 and you can put the money you've saved towards the servicing! :D

Exactly, they must be that good that nobody ever wants to part with them, whereas (only assuming here) S4 owners must either feel they need an upgrade or can't really afford the servicing costs or sell for other reasons ie. new house, holiday etc.

I WANT ONE! :bunny:
