best tyres-help

my back tyre is very nearly ready to be replaced. considering that i live in a wet part of n.ireland what would be the best replacement. Any suggestions will be greatfully recieved.

Rennsports all the way! Doesn't matter if they're crap in the wet, it'll teach you proper throttle control and you'll get some 'proper bo' slides :D

Right listen up.......do NOT buy Pirellis, or Bridgestone, Dunlops are OK, Avons are bloody magic especially the Speedmaster if you can get hold of one. I prefer square section tyres as its better with the Monsters sidecar, but if you can afford them go for Cheng Shin.

On the other hand, (being serious for a second) the bridgestone BT010 is the best bike tyre I've ever used in the wet, and I find standard Pirelli Diablos to be pretty good, reports from Desmodue rate them fairly well in the wet on track as well, with slides being progressive and easily controlled when they are provoked.
Dunlops I found crap in the cold and wet.
Heven't tried a Cheng Shin, couldn't afford them.

You dont want "Hypersports" rubber on a 750 Duke but 010's are getting hard to come by so an 014 front will do. Having said that............I'm amazed by the grip on the standard Pirelli Diablo's on my DD racer. Excellent in the wet and dry ;)

or as said on the Bridgestone thread, BT020(rear) if you want better mileage.
Having said that my BT010 rear looks about half done at 3K + one trackday, less grunt= more miles.

I do :D But it all depends on what sort of riding you're going to be doing. I haven't seen my bike let alone ridden it since my IOM trip on 14th June, so its not like its my daily hack. Whenever I do feel like riding, its fast and brief (1.5 - 2hrs max) I've had a few provoked slides in the dry but its the confidence I have in knowing I've got race proven rubber (essentially a control tyre) beneath me.
