Hiya Nat, If it's the same as a 996 its 46mm (3/4") and if you need one I've still got the one I used on my 996.
I'ts a GEDORE impact socket (3/4" drive) with a 1/2" converter.
Let me know if yer interested.

46mm it is, just had my socket delivered, £9 something from http://www.concepttools.co.uk/ ordered fri eve, arrived mon am, some places wanted £28  Fine if youre undoing Scania wheelnuts all day, but for taking the wheel off your bike a few time a year £9 will do nicely thanks!

Neil, yer £9.40 incl VAT socket described on the socket page, changes when you go to the checkout. It says its £8.00 + £2.27 VAT (£10.27) + p+p @ £4.99, takes it up to £15.26.
Sorry for being pedantic, but I'm poorly bad in bed under the doctor (said in a Welsh accent) and being a pedant makes me feel better :D :D :D

Dom.....Well it was close! I had a few other bits as well, think they charged £5 post for the lot, still cheaper than £28!!!

Is a pedant anything to do with cycling :D
