I didn't know anything about our Bob having to have an op.
What is the transplant, or is that being kept private?

Whatever, we're thinking of you babe. Good luck.

I spoke to GaryT this afternoon, and he has been talking to Bumble (Bob's brother - who doesn't have regular internet access).

News is that the transplant went ahead on Friday afternoon (as planned - so no last minute cancellations :) ). Bob is now recovering in Intensive Care.

I'm going to try and get a Get Well card to her, including a printout of this thread, so keep the good wishes coming in.

Latest update as of this afternoon. Helen has been sitting up out of bed, and although still hooked up to various drips, machines & monitors is doing as well as can be expected.

Those wishing to send get well cards etc. can forward them to Helen Simmons at...

King's College Hospital (ICU)
Denmark Hill
London
SE5 9RS

Helen is currently in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) but sure to be moved around over the coming weeks. It may be a while before she's up to seeing visitors, and think the hospital would be wary of this anyway due to risk of infection, but Dave will let us know when this is possible.

Spoke to Bumble (Bob's brother Dave) last night for the latest...

Bob is out of Intensive Care and has been unhooked from most of the machines - apparently she has been walking (wobbly) about a bit.

All is going as expected, so no worries :) :)

Miles

PS: No visitors yet :( , as still a risk of infection.
