First of all thanks to BOD,YORKIE,CRUST,SLOB & GARY for all the usefull info on my oil light problem. :D
It was the oil sensor switch after all. Good news is that the oil sensor from a Vauxhaull AGIPA 1000cc is a perfect fit,(for 620ie and probably other models)the DUCATI wiring plugs straight in @£4.04 incl. and the local dealer keeps stock. The GM part number is 55354325 other numbers on the packing are 12 52 555 GR.01.800
Once again thanx for the info.

Forgot to mention. DONT throw your old washer away, you have to remove the small one that comes with the part and use the ducati one as it fits into a machined surface.

From the what I can remember the pressure range was 0.25-0.55 the Ducati item is 0.15-0.45. which is slightly out of the range is it not the lower end of the range that is critical ??????
The info about the sensor came from DOCgb.
