The bikes been kind to me all year, now all it wants to do is blow the rear light bulb every time i go out.

Its starting to really wind me up, not to mention the dangers of not having a brake light.

Every time i have a ride out it blows at some point.....any ideas why?

I reckon the LED one is the answer. Make sure it's a "twin filament" stop + tail LED bulb, as long as it is it should do the trick!!!

I've lost a few this year as well, I take it out for trackdays now 'cos that guarantees to break the filaments!

You might find the nuts that hold the rear lamp on are a bit tight? - if you losen them a touch (use ni-loc nuts) the vibes from the bike don't seem to affect the bulb as much... rubber washers might help too, but again make sure you use threadlock or ni-locs, or else the whole lot might shake free!

Thecontacts on the bulb back get bent and make / break contact blowing bulbs. Remove bulb, rebend and replace bulb. It works for about 1000 miles

I did that and cleaned everything up then covered the offending area with insulation. Guess what? Haven't changed a bulb in over 10000 miles.
