Sorry stupid question

I was commuting home from London and I get to the garage and my foot slips off the peg, I think I've put my boot in something but when I look down I realise some scrote has nicked my oil cap and I've got engine oil all over my boot, my leg and the bike.

First will I need to buy specialist Ducati Monster plug or is it one size fits all? Also there is still oil in the bike buts it well under the mark it still sounds alright and I obviously refill it but have I done any permanent damage?

Cheers

Other plugs might fit if you can try before you buy, to be sure get a Ducati one... probably not very expensive, don't forget to get the o-ring as well(that'll add about 60p to the cost). Or get a billet one that requires some sort of tool to undo it like the one Stuart @ Spareshack had on his desk earlier this week.
Be warned that if anything needs ordering from Italy it can take about five weeks at this time of year 'cos it's so hot there everyone goes on holiday for a month!
Obviously top the oil up straight away. As for damage, hard to say without an engine strip. Watch for any unusual oil consumption and check the filter gauze and magnetic drain plug at next oil change, fingers crossed.

Just looking at Spareshack's clearance list (link in random chat) and it looks like Stu has a standard plastic oil plug in stock, or else go for a billet one as Slob suggests - if Stu doesn't have any, then I think you can get them from M&P (I'm sure I saw some marked 'for Ducati' when I was in there a while ago, although please stay clear of coloured anodised, if only for taste's sake...)

I bought one of these from probolt. works great and stopped the oil seepage I was getting with the standard plastic cap. Goto http://www.tastynuts.com
They do a standard fit for Ducati motorcycles.
