Me thinks that the 'donkeyland' or 'donks' will have to be explained to those in the club not fortunate to be a channel islander!

The nickname of Donkey for a Guernseyman, i can only assume, derives from us all being so well hung.

FYI The Jerseyman nickname is "Crapaud" (Pron; Crapp-o) Goodness only knows the heritage of that!

If you come from Jersey you are known as a 'Jersey Bean', 'Bean' or 'Crapauds' (pronounced Crappo). Dunno why, we just are. Allegedly to do with Bean Crock (ever had that?)

If your from Guernsey you are known as a 'Donkey' or a 'Donk' maybe to do with them being similar to asses i suppose

Crapaud was also one of the (pleasanter) terms used by English soldiers in Naopleonic times for the French army.
