'Ello!! :) Newbie to the site so I thought I should get the beers in and say hi! ;)
Just got my first Monster - a 51 plate 600 in red - having had to downgrade from my beloved 996 'S' for financial reasons. :( I had a few comments from people saying the 600 is too slow or underpowered but I have to say I don't totally agree. Admittedly, it's a big step down in the performance stakes from my 996 but the upside is that it's definitely more of a licence saver. The 996 felt like it was just bimbling along at about 80-90 and would pull like a train at well over a ton with a gear left to go!! :burnout:  Whereas the 600 feels like anything more than around 90 for a sustained period of time is a bit of a strain... it certainly is on the neck muscles.
I've done 100 miles on the bike so far and the only things I've noticed are the difference in wind protection (but I guess that was only to be expected  ) and the crap vision in the mirrors at motorway speeds. (note to self) Must check out the mod's section of the site to see if there's a way to cure that.
Anyway, lets hope I have as little bother with the Monster as I did with my 996. I miss that bike already! :(
