While the monster is in the garage (still), I've taken to commuting on the 996 but it doesn't feel as 'planted' as per usual. Not a monster question, I know but it's general suspension advice I'm looking for.
Checked the tyre pressures, no leaks from the forks, tyres still have plenty of tread, nothing has been changed recently so I'm a bit confused.
I was wondering if fork oil can go 'bad' or 'off' so that it doesn't work as well as it did. There is a marker (cable-tie) that was put on my front fork when I had the suspension set up about 3-4 years ago. It never went near the bottom of the forks but I reset it a couple of days ago and it's pretty near the bottom again. OK, I did one small stoppie but other than that, no hard braking or trackdays so wondered if the forks had lost some of their damping or springiness. Is there any easy way to check?
