Don't know if that's what its called but it's the best I can manage.

Just changed the rear pads on my 750 to find the previous owner had done a bodge to disguise the fact that the threads are virtually stripped where the calliper bolts on!!

Thought I'd ask here first before having to deal with JHP in Coventry who have been one notch above abysmal in my dealings with them so far.

Cheers,

Paul.

Get the bracket helicoiled (thread inserts), it will be better than new.
Doesn't take very long to do, probably cost £15 - £20 to do both threads

What kind of bracket is it?
Is it the ones that hangs underneath the swingarm or one that go's above the swingarm and does it have an attatchment for a stay rod?

This appears to be a fairly common problem as the metal on this part appears to be made by Micky Mouse and is prone to stripping threads even if you do them up to the correct torque!

I know I've done it :(

It's the bracket the caliper is bolted onto - my local bikeshop is open again after their return from the TT and I'm going to get the helicoiled as they do indeed seem a bit soft!
