Here we go folks.......here's the details you've all been waiting for! :D





The plan is to meet up at 12:30, at a pub called The Bentley Brook Inn (http://www.4hotels.co.uk/uk/hotels/bentley.html) at Fenny Bentley in Ashbourne, Derbyshire. DE6 1LF

We'll be having lunch at 1:00 followed by a half hour ride into Matlock Bath.


The full Sunday lunch "with all the trimmings" is £8.
There's also vegetarian and vegan options.
They also do "Bar meals".


Because of the potential for a large group of us, I have to "book us in". I'll do that on Friday so that we can all check the weather forecast - I'd like to have a final list of "definates" by 6pm so that I can let the pub know how many of us to expect.



After lunch we've got a short ride to Matlock Bath.

For those that haven't been before - parking can be a bit difficult sometimes.
I think the best thing to do is adopt an "every man for himself" attitude and then meet up outside a shop called "Bikers Gear Box". The last time I went, we just about managed to park 5 bikes together - so you can see why it's unlikely that we'll be able to park 15 or 20 of us together!
Matlock only has 1 road - with the river on one side and shops etc on the other side, so it's hard to get lost!



It looks like being a great turn out - with people coming from far and wide!

Manky Monsters and other Northern peeps, are welcome to meet at my house for the ride down. Pm me for the address.
Me and Rabbit plan to set off at 9:45.
If anyone wants to meet us along the way then let me know.


For those of you who are coming from other areas -
If you want to ride to Ashbourne with people who are local(ish) then I think it's easier for people to arrange that themselves.





I like to be able to get in touch with people when I'm organising things, just in case someone gets lost/breaks down or is running late.

My wifey is now talking about a quiet weekend at home rather than hill walking in Wales, so it looks like I could be on for it. I'm wobbling around on Bob's old S4 Foggy now and he's on something even older, bless him, the poor old sod, his back legs are almost completely gone and he can hardly see. Still leaps up when he hears the postman though. Aaaah.

I shall talk to him later today when Claire has made up her mind.

Yep Scotty I don't know where the Donny services are either but M600ed if youre coming from Grimsby I guess you mean the M180/M18 thing?

Personaly I was going to go from Donny To Sheffield and down the TWISTY :D A625 to Bakewell then Matlock.
Be good to meet up with some off you for the ride down...Scotty can meet you near the A19(Carnels/bike people/whatever its called this week) :)

However, I might be tempted to bring another marque from my vast collection There is a rumour going around the biker speakeasys of Cheshire that CraigMac is going to dust off his Honda-Style green and yellow leathers, Ashman boots and Griffin Clubman helmet and join us. Due to the pressure of wife and daughters, I will have to pass on this one as it looks like I'm heading back North to Newcastle to attend a family BBQ (hope its the Mother in law). I doubt that Willy will appear on the the ride but you never know....no jokes please. I've passed on the details.
