Terry

Hi to everyone, new guy here from near Peterborough. I've gone and done it - I've put a deposit on a M1000s and hope to get it end of next week. I had a test ride on a used one and loved the torque. I've been riding a ThunderbirdSport and will be sorry to see it go but I just had this feeling I have to have a Monster.
I'm sure I will have loads of questions after I get it so that's all for now.

Thanks for the welcome everyone - you lot are ok! I wasn't told about the Ducati offer at 'on yer bike' but was offered a new 1000s for £7k on the road. I found a pre-registered one at Daytona for £6k on the road but it was new with no miles. I thought it was a good deal?
I hope to meet-up with some of you some time. Good forum.

The other one!!! You make me blush! :o

Back to the thread, I daren't get off the subject. Terry, it would be good to meet you, as I mentioned before Peterborough is not far from us all in Leicestershire, perhaps we could do a meet up at Morcott?

I was in Peterborough today for the BMF show. Got a cracking Ducati mug. I think I was the mug though. £4.99

Terry - the deal from the beginning of May is that you get the price deal you can from the dealer, then you can claim a voucher that gives you £500 worth of Ducati performance bits/clothes etc - or some dealers may let you use that for servicing too... this applies to all M1000 in stock, or ordered from the factory (where you get £1000) -as long as you are a member of the UKMOC. However, it might be worth calling Ducati UK to check if this is applicable to pre reg. bikes - it might not be... still, £6K is a good deal anyway...

Good luck...

:) Ok, you lot are definitely more than ‘ok’; it’s nice to see some humour – sadly lacking on some forums. Invites to meet-up are welcome (Morcott not far from me Mand), and so is the info on the Ducati offer from Julie & Ruth, I’ll check it out, thanks.
Hey Sammye, that’s some ambitions; I’m still looking for ONE woman but I’m sure she’s out there somewhere! I don’t live on my own though, I live with Lucy - an absolutely gorgeous rescued Old English sheepdog that I’ve known for 5 years.

Everyone sounds friendly enough so far which is a good start(bit different to Triumph Owner's Club!)
Nik_the _brief asked about my dog Lucy: 'Hopefully not in the Biblical sense terry!'
Not so far, but she is cute and those long winter nights can be cold and lonely........

nice bit of splicing there, IMO most dogs look better with the polar bear head upgrade, the number one mod for many cannines.

Here's the bike then Mand, got it yesterday & rode 100 miles home. A few questions about elec stuff not working but I like it. Hey Alex, that's my best friend Lucy you're talking about and she hasn't been spliced :( . Here she is again.

nice laboratory and frightened hound picture! seriously what elec problems? the early ones (ie mine) are a bit moody but the new computerised ones should be pretty stable?

Alex, thanks for interest in my electrics & I'll post in 'electric' forum as it may be of use to others(if you, or anyone has the answer that is)
While I'm here I'll post another pic of Lucy just for Mand - while she is feeling 'all soft & girly' (just how I like 'em! :) )
I sometimes have to sit on the floor 'cos I haven't the heart to disturb her(what a mug!)
