I've just ordered a new back tyre for mine, Dunlop Sportmax 160/60ZR17 D207.

Been quoted £105 including fitting.

Most places have been quoting about £150 - 160

Didn't think you could get 207s anymore.
I had a 208 supplied & fitted for 83 quid at ProTyre.

Front 120/60 ZR17
Rear 160/60 ZR17

Maybe its a D208 that i'll be given?

Am i right in thinking that D207/208 is the tread pattern?

Sort of, it is the model of tyre - as such that determines the tread pattern.

Front - 120/70/ZR17
Rear - 160/60ZR17

I can recomend Pirelli Diablos, work exceptionally well on the monster, good in wet or dry, good wear rates, and you should manage to get them for around £160 a pair, fitted to loose wgheels, if you phone around and negotiate!

Zimbo - if you are running a 160/60 rear, you should be using a 120/60 front (not a 70 profile) - I wondered about this and even spoke to Ducati about it, and they said the 120/70 profile wouldn't match the narrower 160/60 rear properly...

Can you check what you have put on Lin's bike?

we have the same set up too Jen :)

We rely on the suspension that the tyre provides to set the bike up easily

the 60 profile tyre tends to be a little bit too stiff & non-compliant on certain tracks. I dont know of any in the race series who are using the 60 profile

Yes - I thought the 120/70 front gave a nicer ride when I took an S2R out the other week (but that had a 180/55 rear of course) - so what you are saying is the 120/70 front and 160/60 rear work well together afterall?

Interesting, as I need some new tyres... and unless I can find a post '02 M900/M1000 rear wheel, I thought I was stuck with the O/E sizes...

I have 120/60 front. Always have had but then i'm not running the ride height that the other bikes are on and like mine the way it's set up.

Thought this looked like a good deal

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=21669&item=7973862762&rd=1

should be less than £150 for both once delivered + fitted.
