Re exposed fork sliders on S4r

The mudgaurd on my s4r seems to leave about 1.5" exposed of the stanchion, I guess all monsters are the same. Does it lead to accelerated seal wear?

After only 300miles mines looks hazy compared to my 748s ones which were covered and always came up shiny :)
