Are all Monster fuel tanks universal?

EFi tanks are a different shape underneath as they have to clear the different shaped air-box, and other gubbins - and also they have an internal fuel pump that is electronically operated - and earlier bikes have a different shaped recess for the front edges of the seat to fit in too...
