LONDON UNDERGROUND TUBE DRIVERS,Will be sent to Japan to educate their local counterparts that it,s alrightif the train is late.
The proposed educational tour follows the shocking news that a driver of a train that last week crashed into a block of flats in Amagasaki 250 miles west of Tokyo, killing more than 100 people, was speeding because the driver was 90 seconds behind schedule.
A Japan rail union spokesperson said "it was likely the driver was trying to make up time because he feared punishment and being berated by his so called superiors"
When London tube drivers were informed of this development, they sprang into action, calling a stop work meeting that delayed trains for several hours to discuss a course of action.
Northern line driver and spokesperson Ken Gonowhere said. "What has happend in Japan is an absolute tragedy. In London we have not had a serious crash on the underground for decades. Why? Because our drivers dont give a **** if they,re 90 seconds late or 90 minutes late."
"We get there when we are good and bloody ready, and our passengers are safer and happier because of this."
The humanitarian tour to Japan had been due to leave on tuesday, but was delayed for 45 minutes because ofleaves on the runway.05/05/2005
