Just had a few days in Sicily (sometimes I love my job), hired a Yammy 500 for a day - they were out of VStroms, shame, and went for a blat amongst the hills. What bloody lovely roads. Serious twisties scattered with the occaisional heard of sheep or bus on the wrong side of the road to keep you awake and long open A roads carving through the hills. Went round Etna and onto the coast, then braved the traffic of Palermo, which was as much fun as the twisties. And the cost of all this? 50 Euros for the Yammy with insurance and nasty lid, 30 for two tanks of fuel and, get this, 47 quid with Ryan air from Stanstead. They're seling mid week outwards for 99p! Wahey!

Down side. Over the entire stay I only saw four Ducs, three 600 darks and an ST. It seemed that the entire island travels on two wheels, but they prefer Jap bikes. Shame really.

Anyway, its worth the trip just for the days riding. I'll post the hire shop up as soon as I find the card.

Oh, and the foods lush.
