Right then,
Support a local company, it's a bus ride from here to there, they weren't too bad once before, three of the reasons why i decided to spend money there. so off i tootles for;
A pair of Pirelli Diablo's
An MOT.

So what did i get?
A pair of Pirelli Diablo's fitted and very nice too.
An MOT, very handy for getting that all important road tax.
A new set of head-races, well if they were duff - they needed replacing.
A speedo cable that was not disconnected when they took the wheel out, yanked, and snapped on the way home.
Not the £50 deposit taken off my bill (maybe just an oversight)
Oh yes, now the doody! The front wheel fitted incorrectly so the o/s calliper was in contact with the rotor, result two nice score marks around the disc.

Oh and "it was like that when you brought it in", er "yeah right sonny, when not under my ar$e, this bike sits in my dining room next to the computer, like i'm not going to notice something like that!"

So the boss is on holiday for two weeks and i can't do anything about it till he gets back!

Needless to say i want my £50 back, i want both rotors replacing with pads to, and make sure they're OE Brembo items, and i don't think i'll be going back there as much as i like the boss.

So - Well i'm not happy now because i'm waiting for "the Boss" to be back at work. It depends on what he does to remedy the problem, and i have been there and been completely satisfied before so maybe this was "one of those things" that just happens occassionally. They're always friendly, always have suggestions, and do good tune ups. BUT as a place that does race preparation, they should have experience not to cause this kind of problem.

Put your complaint in writing asap and address it to the boss man and mark it personal. That way the grease monkey's won't intercept it. You should state your complaint and what you expect them to do.

I've heard worse from 'better' people. A mate wanted his SuperSport engine rebuilt, 1st time it came back the oil pump failed leading to the crankshaft melting. 2nd try and the bolt holding swing-arm to engine came out one side completely. He was not happy!!!

I had a well known Ducati specialist in the New Forest put new rings in my monster. A thousand miles later I do the oil change and the little wire bracket that bolts on the carbs to hold the tubes in place FALLS OUT THE SUMP PLUG!!! Don't go there anymore, needless to say, but the same day of the oil change the bike developed a ticking noise which was worrying, so I had to drop it there for him to investigate as thee was no one else around, with the idea of picking it up the following weekend. This was the beginning of June. By mid July, still he hadn't even looked at it, as friend's who had track day bikes were obviously more important, so I asked him to investigate, then order the parts before the factory goes on summer strike. Does he? Does he ****! Due to missing the deadline, the parts couldn't be ordered til September, but I end up waiting til October before they arrive. So does he make me a priority, knowing how long I've waited for my daily commuter bike, also knowing that I have missed the summer season? Does he ****! The trackday bikes get priority again. The November rain is streaming down before I got it back. Git...

Hear.. hear, and get plenty of photos (ideally dated) for evidence of the parts damaged or bodged on the bike ;)

If you are with the AA they have, I think they still have, a very, very good legal dept.

They know how to apply pressure. They got me out of a very difficult insuance / claim a few years back. Oh and monies owed to me ;)

The best bit it was free with the AA membership. I'm not sure if that is still the case. If your hassle with the bike shop carries on check the AA out.

Good Luck, be mad

Well the Boss came back from holiday.
Found that the front wheel doesn't sit in the forks exactly centre, which as caused the damage. ust've been like that from new. so.....

He took the wheel out and did some maching on the top-hat spacer, refitted everything and replaced the brake and clutch fluid free of charge, plus gave me my deposit back. Disc didn't need changing in the end, a new set of brake pads (previously ordered and fitted by said bossman) and the disc has cleaned up.

Well they made good and due credit given.
But i wonder if i'll go back again?

Doesn't leave much choice down here then!

I've heard bad things about 3x before I got the Monster, everyone I know with a Ducati recommended 2-4-Italia, now would appear they have an interesting reputation! Looks like it will go to the guys who look after my Busa!

I've heard there's another Ducati guy setup in the Ind. Est. behind 3X but have yet to check it out in any detail yet. Apparently I hear he's an ex 3X bloke that sort of split off to just service dukes. From what I heard he's pretty reasonable. Anyone heard on this guy?

Anyhoo...I've just put my bike thru its first 600mile service @ 3X (Got it from there end of June...she's a peach, all black, split termis and monza style belly pan, will get some pics posted asap :) ) and, to be fair, they've haven't d****d me about at all, loaned me a ST3 (urgh! but got me about for the day they had it) and only charged c£260 (which I tried pulling the ol' "last time my first service was free??!!" but with no results this time).

To cut my rambling short...she's still running like a dream and now considering how to part with this months paycheck ;) I'll make a point of riding up that way soon, have a scout about and report back....

The 3X service rate sounds good. They should know their stuff.
The should have a good stock of spares to. My service was slow as they said parts were coming from italy via 3x. I was not in a hurry at time...being March, But if it was summer. getting back quick is a plus. Oh I had no loan bike and they charged a bit more.

so good deal

Andy S ;)
