Trackday questions

With the Mallory track day coming up, and as a virgin can I present 2 questions to the all knowing out there.

1.Guess my insurance won't cover me if I bin it on the track :eek: ,has anyone priced up the addition to their policy or looked at seperate insurance for this(if there is one)It isnt even a year old yet and don't fancy coming back in a couple of weeks after the bones have mended to put the remains in a van!

2.Is there a noise limit eg. loud cans or will I have to put my standard ones back on :(

This website (http://www.pitandpaddock.co.uk/pages/faqs.htm#) says to check with your current insurer to see if your covered already (unlikely) and they do offer limited cover.
I am not endorsing them, I found them on a Google search.
I didn't bother last year, but am considering this year...........
Has anyone used Pit & Paddock? Any other recommendations?

I'm not sure if there is an official noise limit at Mallory, but most people had loud cans last year and I'm joining them this year too :burnout:

There wasn't a noise limit last year, however even where there are limits they're usually set at 105dB, which is pretty nisy, you'd have to have very loud cans indeed to fail the noise test! The only exception is Castle Coombe, who are very strict and like you to have standard cans on.
As for insurance, there are specialist companies who will insure you for a trackday, they're not cheap though! Personally I don't bother.

Bod..insurance is very pricey (you wont be covered under your normal policy). Like Zimbo I never bother as I believe that if you warm your tyres properly and know your own limits, your less likely to come off on a track thanyou are on the road..you could always fit some R&G crash protectors (£65) for some extra peace of mind...

Hmm... thanks for the advice chaps think I will risk it then,warm tyres and ride like old man (at least to start with) :D

As the man said, stick to your limitations and ya wont go far wrong.. ;)
