Seeing as it's Easter this weekend - I'm hoping that people will have some time off work so that we can finally meet up with some of you from the Midlands :D

We can come out to play on Fri, Sat, Mon or Tue....what about everyone else? :bunny:

I've had to start a new thread because I've added a "poll" and you can vote for more than one day. We can arrange something for the day that gets the most votes.....does that sound OK to everyone?

Oh btw....Saturday is a no-no for me, I'd forgotten about having to take our little girl to a birthday party

It's just not on, my 4 yr old has a busier social life I do!

I'd be up for a jolly on Monday (if I can still do my leathers up after all those Easter eggs).

Well don't shove them down your leathers then, they will only melt. And the Tescos security man will catch you anyway.

Oi Tiger.... GET OFF MY LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND. ;)

I was thinking of meeting somewhere a bit more central......There's a Little Thief on the A523 between Leek and Ashbourne, that might be a good spot.

Cat & Fiddler......
Me and Rabbit can meet up with you at Duke Manchester if you like, then we can ride down together, how does that sound?

Mr Cake
25-03-2005, 07:33 AM
Sounds good Jules! My rear tyre got wrecked at Oulton Park on Wednesday so I really need my new hoops fitting and an MOT otherwise its a bit dodgy and I don't want to ruin everyone's day by being stopped for an hour.

May I suggest the A52 at, say Mackworth which is just after where the 38 crosses the 52, would be a fairly decent place for East to meet West ?

Tigerlily
27-03-2005, 12:54 PM
NuttyN mentioned Rivington Barn on another thread, but i think that might be a bit too far, bearing in mind where some people are coming from......

I'm gonna have another look at the map for some inspiration but if anyone else has any ideas or suggestions feel free to post them!

Is there a concensus on where and when tomorrow .....then all we have to do is pray for good weather

Tigerlily
27-03-2005, 11:09 PM
Right folks, the plan for tomorrow is this........

Me and Rabbit will meet up with all you Midlanders at the Little Chef on the A523 which is about 10 miles past Ashbourne,I'm planning on us getting there at about 11:00. (I'm presuming it's still there because I've not been there for about 10 years!!! Good start eh?)
Then I thought we could have a bimble round some of the B roads, stop off in Bakewell for a toilet/cig break then back on the B roads to a little place called Hartington for something to eat at the pub. If you want me to go into more detail then let me know and I'll post the route (can't be arsed to do it right now!).

If anyone wants my mobile number then either PM or e-mail me (I'm not posting it on here cos I get enough nutters calling me as it is! )

Who's actually coming BTW??

The weather forecast reckons cloudy but dry, so fingers crossed :D

I arrived home just before hypothermia set in ......and would you believe it, the sun burst out just as I approached Newark. The clouds opened and it has been a lovely afternoon/evening!

Good to meet you all. Thanks for the lead out Julie....cracking roads......must go back and do them when they are dry and not covered in cr*p and I have feeling in my hands.

Lets hope the next one is in the dry and that Julie and Ruth can be bothered to turn out

Still, Mand kept up Leicestershire's honour by trecking to the Little Thief all on her own.....pity it was derelict .

Mand

Thanks very much for a lovely day everybody. I really enjoyed the roads around the peak district - I was scared and laughing at the same time - if that makes sense?!? :bunny:

I had a lovely ride home via the A6 following a group of Harleys through Matlock :D

Dropped in to Julie and Ruth for refreshment and chatter.

The old man has been working hard on the CCM so I am currently cooking him a big dinner :o I don't feel so guilty about having a great time.

Thanks all!

:) :)
