Hello, bit of a long shot as it's quite a way, but does anyone fancy this trip from East Anglia? All the info is on the events bit under Sunday 27th March. I don't like the QE2 bridge so help me!

Get a grip :( .Stay in the middle lane then :D Other choice is blackwall tunnel. Personally I prefer bridges to tunnels as have nearly been taken out in a tunnel recently with a car overtaking.

albie ; as ever the voice of simplified reason. next time your on one of those bamboo swingers, do your masculinity a favour and get off the beast, grow some balls and jump off. obviously I won't think any thing less of you if you choose to do the rope thing on the first go. big love to all the bridges.

Whatever. As per usual a comment not read with the smileys taken in consideration. Nothing to do with masculinity , its a fear suffered by many men and women who dont know why they are put off.I would be quite happy to escort anybody across there if needed as its just up the road. My lorry driver brother hates it and wont fly but loves planes.

Nonnie plz dont take my comments too seriously because they are full off encouragement.
Ps I have a fear of Right hand bends. Stupid yes. Mallory got a lot yes.

I don't take anything too seriously, honestly. Don't be worried about that. I am afraid to fly and my boyfriends a pilot! How mad is that one? I booked Juan in for his service this Saturday instead so I aim to be at the Oakdene when Kent MonsterMob are so you'll see I got over the bridge alright.

Nonnie - it will take you just under the hour to get to the Oakdene if you observe ALL speed limits ;) and then with Albie leading, about 50 mins max (Albie??) to get to Box Hill.
PD made the run to us (we are 17 miles past Box) in 2 hrs on kylie last year I think.

Look forwards to seeing you there :)

9:30 would be good but whenever you can get there. Not too much after 10 as we still have to go to box hill. But whenever suits you ok. :D

Holy Moly!!! I'll meet you and we'll find the Oakdene together if you like. I know roughly where it is. Give me a place along A12 to find you. I'm leaving Ipswich about 8ish. It's my first meet and biggest ride out yet.

Nonnie, I am at a place called Chelmer Village Chelmsford which is not far from the Boreham interchange on the A12. How does 8.45 ish sound at the Macdonalds car park there which is next to the BP garage (near Royal Mail sorting office and Chelmsford car auctions).

Nonnie,

It's more East from Brands on the A20 TBH, I know you said you had direction's but heres a link to another map I've posted before.

http://www.streetmap.co.uk/streetmap.dll?G2M?X=562715&Y=158760&A=Y&Z=3

The cafe is opposite a big layby on the A20 (if you zoom in, you'll see phone box symbol on map) Just before junction 2A on of the A20/M26 AKA, and just after Texaco garage and pub.

Either...

Take J3 (Swanley) off the M25 and pick up A20 towards Brands Hatch, and just folow the A20 for about 6 miles, crossing 4 roundabouts on-route until you see the cafe.

or...

M25 to J3 and pick up M20 Eastbound. Then come off the M20 at the 1st exit and pick up the A20 at Wrotham hill. Take the 3rd exit off the roundabout at the end of the sliproad, down the short hill, straight over the next roundabout & the Oakdene is on your left.

You should make the 10am meet if you meet Moley at 8,45 near Chelmsford, provided you don't get lost or have too many senic detours ;)

No I am NOT suggesting that. Trust me butch she aint !! I think you will find dear old waffling Richard_S (a man clearly with too much time on his hands) is in for a verbal thrashing. Irrespective of who was the intended recipient of his earlier jibes.

excuse me whilst i soil my pants

as someone who has been here all of a day, one would have hoped that you would have made a rather more palatable entrance.

still I have little time for rough and tumble these days. life’s far too short and you are clearly not worth the effort involved even though the prospect of a verbal thrashing makes my sides split.

Go and pick a fight some place else, ideally with a 17 tonne truck

Harsh words indeed from one who, simply for suggesting the latter idea in the first place, is clearly more deserving of an intimate encounter with the aforementioned vehicle.

I see, well perhaps if you bothered to engage your brain before you move your fingers across the keypad we could understand you a little better...just think! if you had origionally employed the old grey chuggers you may have spotted that the origional jibes were pot shots at dear Alberto...hey I don't make the rules, this is how it's done. Anywho you seem like a spirited lass (or bloke) who is up for a bit of backwards forwards (not in that sense) just keep it clean, don't get upset, and one day we will all look back and laugh. tee hee! (some of us more than others)

Richard_S

for the record I wasn't taking pot shots at anyone or anything.

I was merely trying to have a giggle with albie but as this thread demonstrates once again there is very little scope for humour/ fun or a bit of laugh on these pages anymore. I made a genuine mistake in thinking that anyone called nonnie would be a man. Easy mistake to make and no I don’t look at people profiles before replying ; time I have but I am not that pernickety .

We then have this emily twit registering. He/she/it proceeds to post nothing but tedious comments on this particular thread that can only be intended to upset the newly restored karma here.

I will not knock at either of your doors again.

alex please pass the valium. You just can’t win

Nonnie
25-03-2005, 04:54 PM
as this thread demonstrates :

All this thread was trying to demonstrate was the fact I posted to see if anyone from East Anglia wanted to go to Box Hill. Albie wasn't bothered about going over the bridge and your first suggestion came across as being meant for someone who was bothered and as I was the only other person involved in the thread at that time it doesn't take Sherlock to work it out.

As for Emilys Driver's post being tedious, you also advised him to have an encounter with a 17 tonne truck. That's twice in one thread you have tried to get people to do away with themselves. That's tedious!

Also, if Emily's Driver has only been here for a day then they would not know they were upsetting any newly restored karma.

It's not my forum, you can knock wherever you like. I wouldn't want to exclude anyone from anything I post.

Sunday should be fun at this rate, I’ll dig my javelin and thesaurus out and we can give each other cold stares across the car park. Or we could all just be grown ups and put our handbags away?

That means you too charlotte (not my bike charlotte that is), for someone whom I have met only once you sure have an awful lot of animosity towards me. Your opinion is of little consequence really (to me IMO etc etc etc) but in the interest of public safety and general smiles perhaps we should both make the effort.

Oh and Naomi my earlier reference came from the ‘point break’ dream as opposed to the ‘pulling the plug’, negative, euthanasia populated silent classic. none of us are perfect.

Richard, for what its worth, my wife does not have animosity for you - she even stuck up for you when you were booted off the forum not very long ago, by saying how she had met you etc, to Grunt.
She does however laugh AT you, not with you.
You do seek to drop yourself in it by insulting various people on this board, in particular the women users.
Get a grip & let the rudeness drop away from the newer or female members.
We are both happy to shake you by the hand or javelin on Sunday, your choice :)

Sorry folks my cunning plan faltered away and I was a victim to the duvet. I managed to double book myself, so no clock, weather or indignation excuses, just road safety and sense. Went raving last night, got back at 8.30 this morning and even though I set my alarm the man upstairs put his foot down and I have just awoken. Probably for the best, still rather wonky in most respects and flying saucers are not an ideal introduction.

I did plan to bring my white flag instead of the javelin btw and N consider your syrup-like hot beverage morphed into something a little stronger at the end of the month. Trust all went well, I need a bath and fat one.

Ciao for now
