Quite cool, as inventions go, I reckon. But what a bloody dull ride this (http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_1321345.html) would be.

Agreed, I like the idea of being able to remove the fuel cell and use in to powers other things. Given a 50mph top end I suppose this would probably only be the hedge trimmer.

MCN covered this one this week and according to the size of the cell you could have superbike power with similar weight and dimensions.

Its not a new idea by any means, I seem to remember Belfast Uni working on similar in the 70s. Fuel storage was always a problem, seems they have overcome this. I wish them good luck, I suspect the motor manufacturers will buy an exclusive deal to use the rights to take a potential competitor out of the market, then do nowt with it.

I think Duncan might be right, the oil companies will doubtless have a hand in the bidding.

I think even the oil companies are starting to realise that oil reserves will not last forever, so if they could corner the market in high pressure hydrogen sales I'm sure they would do so..........

One things for sure - our Didge has already cornered the market for high pressure Methane

Not forgetting hydrogen sulphide, which is also very conbustable, although a little on the stinky side if not properly burned.
Also, I hope they've overcome the other drawbacks that we gas bike designers were trying to overcome.

I never thought of a gas cell as a power pack. I'll have to try that.
Get a small drum, fart & sh*t in it, and then let the gas build-up power the engine.
I've always maintained that poo & anal gas were both a misunderstood recycling scource, but I do my best to promote it all the time.
