Hi folks,

Great site. I'm new to Ducati but am hoping to get a 600 monster soon. Just wondered if there are any tall people on here who found/find them a little small. I'm about 6' 3" and there is no point in getting a Ducati if you don't look good on it or find it awkward to ride!!!

Cheers

im 5 11 and i think its fine. its a low bike so then at lights you can plant both feet on the ground but as its my first bike after passing my test i find that useful.
if your used to bigger bikes then you might want to go for the larger versions of the monster

I am 6'2" and find the 600 Monster OK.

I don't find it awkward to ride, but I don't know if I look good on it or not. I may well look like a gangly fool riding a monster mini moto for all I know.
The bike always looks good though, if a little grubby.

Ha! I'm 5 11 and a bit , so there!
My bike is very comfortable to ride, but my legs can look a bit spangly.
(when i first got told that i thought it was a compliment, but apparently it's a cross between spacky and gangly. Ho hum.)

The plus side is i am very firmly planted when i stop, and manoeuvring is a piece of cake.

And it's a huuuuuuge amount of fun.

I'm 6ft and have admired myself in passing reflections whilst cruising :D and don't see a problem.....

If anything, I think it looks more "hench"...........

Coming from someone with the opposite problem (5'2", with short legs to boot), I don't think tall people on monsters look silly.

Although, I do find it amusing following Pedro, watching him pulling his knees in on every corner to stop them scraping on the ground....

Really, I'm just jealous of people who can put both feet flat on the floor.

Same here except nearly 6' 1". I feel better on the st4 chassis tho against the old 900.. Firmly planted feet and knees to grip the tank. :D

all these men admiring themselves whilst "cruising"?....all rather worrying IMO.

Spot on........

I don't think height really matters on uprights.....(not unless you're 7ft before someone gets smart)
Now when I had the ZZR I did feel uncomfortable even though it was a tourer....

A friend of mine has just purchased the new CBR 600 and he's about 6'5......now that does look silly because the fronts on those look a bit shorter to me so he sticks out even more. He complains of back ache, wrist ache the lot.....

Nothing wrong with checking the reflection once in a while........well, most of the time.....ok ok......everytime I go past a shop......screw the lifesaver..... :burnout:

6ft 4 Yep the monster looks small especialy when parked against me mates VFR this morning, seat height is obviousley lower.
Don't have any problems riding though and is comfatable over distances, I worked on the principle that if your legs fitted into the groves on the side of the tank all is fine :)
Also gives you more of a feel that you are riding it, rather than just been pearched on the top of it.

Well you seem to be sorted mate. If you're really worried about the ride hight, I seem to recall that the sport monsters are slightly higher for ground clearance. Maybe you should have a looky at them?
