Howdy Folks

got a new clutch basket to fit and being too tight to buy the Ducati tool for holding the clutch while undoing the nut, I tried "other" methods.

Drilled and bolted a few plates together to lock the basket and drum together ad tried sticking it in gear and holding the rear break while heaving on the breaker bar but theres too much spring in everything to get the nut undone. So....

check the piccy for method 2 which worked a treat!!

was there one of these then ?
and does the thin end point at the gearbox and the thick end point at the cluct then ?

oh and what are the cut out bits on the steel plates for ?

That will only fit one way - thin end towards the gearbox.

Cut outs in steel plates? No idea.....

Hi Scotty

the only thing I can think the notch is for is to balance the plate but I think that may be wide of the mark.......

Maybe one of the other models use it for alignment?

May be a datum point when manufactured in jigs. :)
