Has anyone had to tighten their head bearings on a S4, it looks as though you need a special tool to do the job.
Is it worth buying the tool, or is it better to get a dealer to do it?
I noticed the handling getting a little twitchy and on checking the front end noticed some definite play in the head bearings :( .
Has anyone had this done by a dealer, and if so how much can I expect to pay.
I intend using Ducati John for my main servicing although it’s a little far to go for what must only be a 15 min job.

Cheers

Chris :burnout:

I made one out of a peice of plate, 4 m6 bolts ground down at the ends to fit the holes in the nut, and a centre 8 mm bolt to turn the nut. There is a picture in the haynes manual. You may just get way with a peice of plate in the nut slot, depends how tight it is but it shouldn't be tight.
