Hi Folks,
Anyone purchased mirrors from an American company called monstrack ? http://www.ducatimonster.org/reviews/monstrack_mirrors/monstrack_mirrors.html

There are two types short and long - which is better if you still want to see behind you? The company specialises in precision components and as a sideline I think they've started making parts for Ducati's. They cost $149 with $30 postage. You then need to add excise duty + VAT which is adds a further 20% to the cost after it's converted to sterling. Are they good value for money?

I dont think so, there are plenty of uk distributers selling cnc, carbon etc mirrors. depends how much you like them..the monster thread is standard so there are plenty of equivalents to choose from, mandp, spareshack.ducati perf..anywhere really.

Rizoma, Road Racing, and DPM are some other brands you could try - as Alex says, Stu at Spareshack is a good source...

Highway Hawk stuff is usually not bad value either - and you can order that through M&P...

Hi Berto,
Now, now - they're made of titanium and not a chrome bit in sight!!

Yeahbutnobutyeahbut, the "new" DP tears I picked up in summer had a reverse thread to the much scuffed, older tears I have on my baby at the minute. Someone mentioned converters, but I'm just too damn lazy. ;)

Ah - you don't need converters (unless you like your mirrors on stalks) - if you need two right hand threads, just buy another clutch lever clamp bracket... (they are about a fiver from a Ducati dealer) or if you have an early bike with two right hand threads, and need a left hand one, buy the brake lever bracket from a post '02 bike...

These look very similar to the DPM mirrors I have on mine (Spareshack) and cost just over £50 for the pair. Rizoma also make mirrors in billet which are very nice too.

If you could import them yourself and dodge paying vat/import duty, it would be a better deal, but the $30 shipping charge sounds about right. I've just imported some bits myself (via ebay) from the states, and paid no vat or duty. The items were all labled as gifts and less than $100 in value, and I got a real bargain at the current near $2.00 to £1.00 exchange rate :D
